Written by Harley Lippman | June 11, 2019

Analysis of the latest Labor Department jobs data by the tech trade group CompTIA finds that the unemployment rate for IT occupations in the U.S. dropped to 1.3% in May, a 20-year low, reports the Wall Street Journal’s CIO Journal. As a result, employers are competing for a diminishing pool of talent.

“With job postings outpacing the supply of IT talent, employers face prolonged gaps in the hiring process,” Harley Lippman, CEO of Genesis10 told CIO Journal reporter, Angus Loftus. In the article, IT Unemployment Rate Estimated at 20-Year Low, Lippman also spoke to underlying reasons for employers’ current hiring challenges and suggested possible solutions.
