2022 Memorial Day Message from Harley Lippman

If the past two years have taught us anything, it is to truly appreciate the time we spend together.
Memorial Day honoring and remembering our veterans

As we come out of the pandemic, we are making plans—to venture out, get re-acquainted with loved ones, travel. This Memorial Day weekend, the unofficial start to summer, promises to be filled with barbeques, picnics and other celebrations. Enjoy! You’ve earned the break. But I encourage you also to take time this weekend to consider the real reason we commemorate the Memorial Day holiday.

On Memorial Day, we remember the men and women who made the ultimateMemorial Day thank you to the real superheroes sacrifice for our country, reflecting on their service and why we have the freedoms we enjoy today. We live in gratitude each and every day for the precious gift that they have given to us.

Make time this weekend to watch a parade or participate in a memorial service with your family and friends. Visit a cemetery. When you meet a service man or woman or one of our veterans, greet them warmly and express your sincere gratitude for all they are doing to keep us safe and free. And if someone offers you a poppy, accept it and wear it proudly. The red poppy, if you recall, has been associated with those who died during wartime since World War I. It is a symbol of recovery and new life.
